Sleep
Sleep disorders can have a variety of causes. The ear, nose and throat clinic of Klinikum rechts der Isar has its own sleep laboratory with a wide variety of diagnostic options (DGSM accredited). The complete spectrum of diagnostics and therapies is offered for all clinical pictures from the sleep medicine department: sleep-related breathing disorders (obstructive sleep apnea), insomnia, hypersomnia, sleep-wake rhythm disorders, nocturnal movement disorders, snoring etc.
During the nightly examination in the sleep laboratory, a so-called polysomnography (PSG) is performed. To do this, electrodes are placed in the head area and on the body. This enables numerous important functions to be measured during sleep. The PSG is well tolerated by many patients and is not associated with any pain.
Yes, you can definitely. Many patients are initially skeptical of the wiring, but most of them sleep well in a sleep laboratory.
To stay with us you need the same luggage as for an overnight stay in a hotel or with friends. Bring your washing and cosmetic utensils with you. A towel should also be included. You can have dinner around 5:30 p.m. and breakfast on the next morning.
Depending on the suspected diagnosis, you may allow to go home or work after the PSG night or further diagnostics are needed, that you need to stay.
